Makeup maverick (and famed glasses-wearer) Bobbi Brown has signed a deal with luxury optical designers Safilo, to create a range of optical frames and sunglasses.Brown's innovative approach to makeup and skin care sets her apart from the rest of her beauty compatriots. She isn't interested in changing women, she's interested in bringing out the best of them. And that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
But back to the collab. In recent years we’ve seen the rise of the oversize “nerd” frames as the thinking woman’s choice of eyewear (yes you, Demi), so we're assuming these will be involved in the new line. But we can't say with any certainty that that's the direction Brown is headed in. We’ll have to wait till spring '14 to see what her Safilo collab yields, but a woman who's spent her career helping women make their eyes pop designing frames to do the same? Seems like an obvious choice to us. (Fashion United)
