  Melie Bianco Maya Clutch | Affordable Patent Bow Purse�

  I'm always a sucker for bows on purses, and the cute size and shape of this particular example endear it to me even more.

  OK, so bows are kind of overdone. You'll find them on everything, in every size conceivable, and brands are hard pressed to do anything different or creative with them. However, I think that Melie Bianco has actually managed to add some variety in, thanks to the fact that their big purse-sized bow features that gorgeous central section wrapping itself around the curvy base of the bag.

  The rest of the Maya clutch is, to be honest, somewhat same old same old. A little snap closure frame purse in the same synthetic patent leather, it does what it says on the tin and not much more. Still, to have nice touches like the cute retro polka-dot lining, long chain strap and the interior pocket means that you do get a lot for the bargainous $63 price.

  This is a cute, cheap and feminine purse, and I think it looks great!

  Wailea Wicker Tote with Vinyl Trim | Perforated Summer Purse�

  If you're looking for a summer handbag then this Wailea tote should suit your needs.

  If you think of wicker, you probably automatically think of summer. If you think of wicker totes, that thought expands into images of beaches and picnics. Purses with enough space for towels and bikinis, but which also look pretty enough to carry around proudly. Well, the traditional perforated wicker exterior of this vinyl trimmed tote means that it fits all of those needs, as well as giving you the opportunity to coordinate with your beach mat!

  Of course, it is undeniable that leather would have been preferable to vinyl. It is just that much more stylish, as well as feeling nicer. However, a vinyl trim does offer a small advantage in terms of how much exposure to the elements this purse can take, although water will still damage the wicker fairly fast. Plus, cheaper materials mean you can get this roomy tote for just $79.75.

  Simple, spacious and reasonably priced, this rattan tote may be just the thing for the beach season.

  Serpui Marie Checkerboard Purse | Complex Luxury Shell Clutch�

  Mother of pearl shell is a classic luxury material, and Serpui Marie acknowledges this fact in a play on the classic Mother of Pearl checkerboard.

  Of course, this particular checkerboard is less likely to be seen huddled over by old men than played with and fawned over by girls! In fact, it comes in the form of a cute little clutch. The dark and light sections of shell contrast in an intricate and complex checkered pattern all over the body, making it much more about the fashion than about the tradition!

  Of course, though this special evening bag looks remarkable, it costs a pretty penny too. In fact, it costs $595, making it a really "special occasion" bag if ever there was one. The question is whether that sleek shell exterior is enough to make you spend that much, or whether you would be willing to risk the shoddier workmanship in a cheaper alternative.

  Whilst I can't make that decision for you, I can say this. The curved shape, rich coloring and remarkably eye catching design in this Serpui Marie clutch could easily make you the belle of the ball.

  Nine West Fun & Fancy Tote | Folded Rippled Leather Purse�

  Embrace interesting shapes and deep textures with the Nine West Fun and Fancy purse.

  Although the leather in this teal bag is actually synthetic, it still gives a nice sheen and classy look. More to the point, the gentle shine helps the folded sections stand out all the more, creating shade when the curvy folds and layers of that structured form overlap. The effect? A funky sun-like pattern radiating out from the center, with plenty of depth and definition.

  Aside from the gorgeous exterior, the rest of the purse is quite basic. A sophisticated and formal lining with a single zip pocket does its job, and delivers pretty much exactly what you would expect for the bargain price of $54. Plus, the range of colors is perhaps more extensive than you would expect for that price, meaning that the chance of everyone else having the exact same bag is greatly reduced.

  All in all, this is a smart and affordable tote that would work equally well for home and office!

  Kara Ross Prunella Clutch | Metallic & Cork Envelope Clutch�

  We have already introduced you to the past versions of the Prunella, but this new cork edition was so summer-appropriate that I couldn't resist showing it to you again!

  Interestingly the conversion from leather to cork instantly makes the Prunella into a day bag. The evening vibe is still kind of there in the cute, yet subtle, golden flecks throughout, but overall it is more the type of purse that looks smart by the side of some St Tropez pool. Team it with a floaty white chiffon sundress, and you have an outfit destined to accompany a margarita and a hot sunny afternoon!

  Of course, the lightweight and adorable upside of cork is also its downside. Sure it may float if you drop it in the water (joke!) but it is likely to be a little more delicate than its resilient leather counterpart. Plus, for such a simple envelope design (even with the lovely gold flap lining), $590 is a lot to pay. You might have to have the lifestyle to accompany those St Tropez aspirations!
