Barack Obama drew nearly every face in the American government to the State of Union address on Wednesday, but Simon Kneen did his part with editors a night before. Nearly every big face from the biggest books in our great country (Stefano Tonchi, Anne Christensen, Hal Rubenstein, Teri Agins, and Zanna Roberts) all made it out to Banana Republic’s traditional, seasonal dinner at Indochine. The editors and BR’s young design team toasted the company’s Summer 2010 effort and shared shrimps and steak family-style.

When Chic checked the weather this morning and found out the high was in the 20s, our first thought wasn’t our outerwear–it was our face! The cold and wind can wreak havoc on the skin, so be prepared with a moisturizer that’s not afraid to fight back–with caviar extracts, alpha hydroxy acids, and unique sea proteins. Now, the power zodiac author pair is back with a new book: Cosmic Coupling: The Sextrology of Relationships and they will celebrating and signing their new work during a private event at W Union Square on Tuesday. The duo will hit the hotel to give zodiac inspiration and toast great astro matches with their guests.

Who doesn’t like needlepoint? And what about taxidermy? Never has Chic seen these two worlds of home decor merged so brilliantly. The French design firm Frédérique Morrel exhibited ‘the Slice of Life’ – ‘Passe Murailles’ collection at the 2010 Paris Maison et Objet show. These life-sized trophy sculptures are made with vintage needlework. The pieces will be shown at La Galerie Libertine in Brussles as of February 4th. No word yet on pricing…but we expect to see these guys in Moss at some point.
