The Academy Award winner, who soared to international stardom as a full-figured soulful singer on the popular television show, shocked the world when she dropped 80 pounds in two years -- with the help of Weight Watchers! Now thatâs what we call a great investment!
Skinny her whole life, Tori Spelling was an unlikely choice as the spokeswoman for NutriSystem. In 2007, the star claimed that the diet system helped her shed her baby weight after giving birth to her first son, Liam Aaron McDermott, but two more babies on and Tori has seemed to have no problem dropping dress sizes on her own!
Whatâs a great way to lose your contract as a diet spokeswoman? Launch a dessert company! Carnie Wilson, who struggled publicly with obesity for decades and even got gastric bypass surgery, learned this the hard way when she landed and lost a campaign with The Fresh Diet.
âCarnie Wilson was let go as spokesperson for The Fresh Diet after losing only 19 lbs on the program -- and then gaining it all back (plus some) after she launched her own cheesecake company,â said Ezzy Duchman, spokesperson for The Fresh Diet. âIf youâre baking cheesecake and selling it, then you canât promote a diet company,â he added.

If youâve read all the hype about the musical drama Smash and you think itâs another Glee, Katharine McPhee says think again.
The American Idol runner-up says the new series â which premieres on NBC Monday â is nothing like the FOX network hit.
â[Iâm] not saying that one is better than the otherâŠâ she tells Celebuzz, âTheyâre just totally different shows.â
Katharine plays Broadway hopeful Karen Cartwright in the much-hyped series. She says: "I know it always seems like one thing becomes popular and now they do like 50 versions of that.
âBut at least I know that Smash has been in development for years.

Adam Lambert has quite the pair of shoes to fill -- the American Idol winner claims he's replacing Freddie Mercury as Queen's frontman.
"The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs," Lambert told the Daily Star. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of."
While he's looking forward to teaming up with 64-year-old guitarist Brian May and 62-year-old drummer Roger Taylor, Lambert insists he'll be honoring Mercury's memory.
"There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible," Lambert said of Mercury, who died in 1991.
While this may come as a surprise to die-hard Queen fans, Taylor had spoken highly of Lambert back in December.
"He has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that's great," the drummer told Billboard. "There's nothing signed just yet but we're talking about live dates. It could be very exciting."
Spinner notes that this is not the first time someone has taken Mercury's place in the band -- Paul Rodgers did a five year stint with the band that ended in 2009 (the band went by the name of Queen + Paul Rodgers). Guitarist Brian May even flirted with the idea of Lady Gaga joining the famed rock group.
